Term Definition

Ledger The basic and official accounting record of all financial transactions recorded under each revenue, expenditure and balance sheet account.

Ledger Review A monthly check of the DaFIS DS Transaction Listing (2) and either the Distribution of Payroll Expense (104) or PPP 5302 to determine and certify the validity of charges and credits.

Ledger Reviewer See General Ledger Reviewer.

Legacy System The previous accounting system. Often used to refer to older systems.

Lien See Encumbrance.

Log To record daily progress or activity.
