Term Definition
Higher Education Function Code Standardized reporting classifications for higher education as defined by the National Association of College and University Business Officials (NACUBO). In DaFIS, a 4-digit code assigned to each account to define the overall purpose of the account. The 4-digit code is driven by the first 2 digits of the OP Account number. Example: INSP = Institutional Support (72).
Home Department A computer-assigned, 6-digit number on the Personnel Action Form (PAF), which generates the department address to which documents are mailed.
Honorarium Payment or award in recognition of special service or distinguished achievement for which custom or propriety forbids any fixed business price to be set. A gratuity paid for lecturing or similar service, usually not directly related to the value of service performed.
House Hunting Expenditures incurred by the employee and spouse at the new work location for house seeking; includes travel to the new place of work to seek housing, including the cost of meals and lodging during such travel. The house-hunting trip may occur after the university has approved employment at the new work place. Note: At the discretion of the university reimbursement of such expenses may be made for other members of the employee's family.
