Accounts Eligible for Benefits Funding

Only accounts meeting the criteria in the Benefit Funding Matrix spreadsheet are eligible for benefit funding. This spreadsheet also determines which accounts should NOT receive benefit encumbrances.

The process is run monthly and re-appropriates budget for:

• SUB6-Leave Assessment expenses (this includes object codes 8550-Leave Assessment-Salary and 8551-Leave Benefit Accrual)

• Leave Usage (this includes object codes 8931-Leave Usage-Salaries and Wages and 8932-Leave Usage-Employee Benefits)

• Base Benefits (this includes object code 8515-Base Benefits).

Also, please visit the Budget and Institutional Analysis website. Their version of the benefit funding matrix includes offset accounts.

Please note that "benefits funding" is referred to as "appropriations" in FIS Decision Support (DS). Most department users consider benefits funding as a "credit back" for benefits.
